Band at OTHS is...

The Ottawa Township High School band program is made up of two curricular ensembles: Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. In the fall, these two combine to form the Marching Pirates, and perform pre-game and half-time shows at all Home football games. In the winter, they combine to form the Pep Band, and perform at Home boys' and girls' basketball games. Outside of class, band students may participate in Jazz Band. The band performs in three major concerts in fall, winter, and spring, as well as participates in varying other opportunities such as the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA)'s District and All-State festivals, IHSA Solo & Ensemble and Organizational Contest, OEHS Music Festival, and I-8 Music Festival. Additionally, they participate in local parades, and provide music at graduation. This program has won numerous honors at the state level, and has sent many students to represent OTHS at ILMEA District and All-State.
